He looks real good and a lot more important than those 2 guys on his left. Glad you are back safely. This is the first day of harvest for Lampyridae, wish us luck.
Take a good look at the last shot of Sam and parents....notice the sweat on Stevens shirt and Moms hair just starting to frizz (you should have seen it an hour later). And Sam stands there in full uniform like he's in an air-conditioned room....talk about acclimating!
Airborne is 3 weeks, the last week they jump out of planes.......5 times!
Then he stays for the Ranger program (actually RIP - Ranger Indoctrination Program, the Ranger school comes later). He may have to wait for a few weeks to get into RIP, depending on how many guys they have and where he falls in line. Once that starts, it's another 4 weeks at Benning if he makes it thru on the first try (which we fully expect he will).
After that he gets some time off to come home....yea! We're thinking he may be home around the holidays...just not sure which one :)
The old white guy now understands the value of undershirts. While we were in Columbus it was 85 degrees and 93% humidity. After we left Sam said it reached 100 degrees and same humidity.
FYI: http://www.goarmy.com/ranger/index.jsp is a overview of the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP) Sam will be in next.

Wow! He looks so grown up all of a sudden. Very impressive - I can tell how proud you must be! How long is the airborne program?
Welcome home, glad you made it!
